Even our most just complaints have been deemed insolent,
undutiful and rebellious; not contented with precipitating
us to untimely destruction, they are offended with our dying
cries, and enraged that we will not expire without a groan.
  Ah! my dear country, curst in peace,
  Why did you wish the war to cease;
  The war in which you strew'd the plain,
